About the Course

The Basic Wilderness First Aid course was designed specifically for individuals, guides and outfitters who want a little more confidence in their first aid skills. This is our most popular course for individuals who work and play in the outdoor environment that may be faced with delayed response from emergency services.

We created this course in response to the lack of expanded training found in traditional 1-day first aid courses for individuals working in environments where emergency response is delayed and where knowledge of environmental emergencies, common medical issues and patient protection / packaging are paramount.

The core of the Basic Wilderness First Aid course is first aid in the wilderness / remote environment focusing on Quick Patient Assessment; Life Threats, Common Medical Emergencies, Environmental Emergencies, Critical Thinking Skills and Hands on Skills.

*CPR certification is not offered with this particular course but CPR training / skills are provided (per AHA guidelines)

registration & payment

The course requires a minimum of 8 participants to run effectively. We ask that you sign up for the course using the REGISTRATION FORM below and send to us using the SEND BUTTON. The registration form will ask for your name, email and phone number. (no payment at this time) We will contact you via email regarding payment a few weeks prior the course in order to make sure we have enough people to run the course, rather than have to refund any early payments.

Two weeks before the course (around March 11) we will send you an email informing you IF we have reached the minimum number to run the course.

If the course is a "GO" we will include in the email several options for payment for the course.

*payment will be due within one week of receiving email to remain on roster

*there will be no refunds after payment UNLESS the minimum requirement is not met because participants who signed up did not pay during the payment period.-in this case a full refund will be issued for those that paid for course.
